So, I’ve been known to dabble in this little thing called photography—or as some like to call it, wielding a “time-freezing device.” Don’t worry—I don’t just push buttons and hope for the best. I’ve spent years perfecting this craft, and while I may crack a few dad jokes along the way, I take the responsibility of preserving your most important memories seriously.

My journey started back in college with a Nikon D5500 and a growing obsession with capturing moments that mattered. What began as a hobby quickly turned into a full-blown commitment—complete with a better camera, more lenses than I care to admit, and a side of student-budget sacrifices. But investing in this passion? Totally worth it.I poured everything I had into learning the technical side, mastering editing, and understanding how to tell stories with light, emotion, and timing. Call it graduating from the YouTube Academy of Photography—self-taught, yes, but deeply dedicated.

Today, I’m the proud owner of M. Carter Photography LLC, serving incredible couples, families, and individuals across Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington, D.C.. I specialize in weddings, engagements, and portraits, and I’m all about delivering a high-touch, high-quality experience from the first email to your final gallery.

Additionally, I have a profound appreciation for black and white images, as they skillfully direct attention to the raw emotions captured in a moment, enriching the narrative within the photograph with depth and nuance.
